The follow essay was written by my seventeen year old son. He wrote it without any input from me, but I assume he has been influenced by being around me.<br />
We live in a rural area of the North Georgia mountains, where most of his friends and parents of his friend are either hunters or own some sort of fire arm.<br />
This was for a project in school, I don't know what kind of grade he got, but I think he got it mostly right, regardless of what you hear from the white house. If we have more seniors in high school that can actually think for themselves, we still may hope.<br />
I just cut and pasted his word file, with his permission, with no revision.<br />

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 200%;">Gun control is a very
controversial topic in America at this point in time. It was never really made
a big deal out of until the Sandy Hook shootings, but shootings have never been
a good thing obviously. Basically what I have gathered from the poll research
is that something tragic has to happen to make people believe a certain thing,
which has been evident in the past with things such as the Watergate scandal
and the Iran – Contra scandal. The fifth poll that said, “Have you done any
research on gun control laws after the Sandy Hook incident”, which I believe is
trying to imply that it takes something like that to make a nation of people
more concerned. If the question had been asked “How much research on gun
control had you done before the Sandy Hook incident?”, then I guarantee there
would not have been close to the reported 69 percent. </span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 200%;">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 200%;"><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span>The second conclusion I have come to is that most people
do not do research on most things anyway. By “things” I mainly mean in terms of
these gun bans proposed by Obama. The automatic rifle ban would possibly be one
of the least effective bills passed. One reason is that convicted criminals and
people that want to get weapons and kill people are going to do it no matter
what a law says, they aren’t planning on following the laws anyway obviously.
Secondly due to the fact that nearly 23 percent more people are killed by
cigarette smoke, why would we propose a law banning assault rifles when more
people are committing suicide smoking. Third, it is not usually assault rifles
that are used in most shooting incidents, it is handguns. Making a ban on
handguns would be way more effective than assault rifles, but like I said
earlier criminals aren’t going to follow any rules anyway. I think things
should maybe be a bit stricter on the security and self defense end, such as
letting teachers or at least one faculty member keep a concealed weapon, but I
do not believe bans will change much.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 200%;">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 200%;"><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span>I do in fact believe that gun control could change an
election outcome in the future. If a president says they want to take away gun
rights they will probably lose a good bit of their voters. In most polls way
more people supported more gun rights than less, usually a good majority at
least. If a presidential candidate wants to try and do it they will probably
lose unless they have a really good argument. </span></div>

I was just sitting here pondering the latest news about letting women in combat rolls. I guess this is just the way it is now days, women should be able to do anything a man can. Don't get me wrong, if they want to go out and put themselves in harms way, more power to them. I appreciate the fact that there are actual women that are not afraid to fire a weapon at another person, or to take a chance on being in the back lines with a bunch of men who are full adrenaline and testosterone. Then again if they look like the women that are fight for the right for these women to fight, they probably don't have much to worry about from the men anyway.<br />
They have already invade the Masters Golf club, wedged their way into little league football teams and now, combat? Where do we go from here?<br />
Do we carry this to the ends' degree?<br />
This is my list, you are welcome to add to it as you see fit.<br />

Really, with just a bit of sarcasm, but think about this. If women were equal, then there wouldn't be a WNBA they could play with the men. There wouldn't be men and women's separate events in the Olympics. Women would be allowed to be boxers or in the UFC,(WWF wrestling doesn't count).<br />
Just some food for thought, if Hillary would have been a republican man, his testimony would have been from a jail cell. But the standards are a lot different for people now than years ago. I guess change is inevitable, but I hope women will always be different than men, I kinda like it that way.<br />

Ok, here we are, the Monday after the playoffs and all people are talking about is how the Falcons pulled it out in the last seconds of the game. Or they are talking about the tweet Tebow's brother sent out about "am I the only one happy that Denver lost?" big whoop.<br />
In the mean time, gas is still above $3.25 a gallon, a lot more in some places and the national debt is growing faster than ever. The president is on the radio and tv today trying to blame the republicans again for all the problems wrong in the world. Never mind the fact, the democrats have had the White house and the Senate for the past four years.<br />
The politicians continue with the same ole stuff, blame each other for everything. They never stand up and just say, "I'm sorry we miscalculated, we are going to do what ever we can to fix it." There is just to many people in Washington trying to protect the paycheck that is four times the median wage in the US. Football players at least go out and give 100% for their money, and we get to see what they do in the light of day. Where the politician hides in the back room making deals, runs to blame the other guy and refuses to answer a question honestly. Remember this, "we have to pass the bill to find out what's in it'." How well would that work anywhere else?<br />
How did we ever get to the point where $3.00 a gallon a gas seems normal. When Blame it on Bush left office, the gas price was down to $1.85 in most places. Obama promised to do something to curb the US taste for oil, go green, well all he did was take more spending money from the working class to survive. We have grown so use to this, that when the gas comes down to $3.10 or $3.05 people rush to the station like this is incredible, buy it now before it goes back up. It all a matter of conditioning. Just like a town expects a team to loose or win, if something happens out of the ordinary, there is an excitement or let down. People have seem to lost this excitement with things that matter.<br />
Were I am going with this? This is the new world, the world where no one cares anymore about Washington is doing, political talk radio is dying and people are throwing up there hands and saying you win, we will do what we have to do to get by. They turn to sports, to TV, to whatever to keep from thinking about the things that really matter. For that point, don't think most people don't even know what really matters anymore. They know that gas prices are way to high, they don't know why, but they see the price. They know it cost more at the grocery store and at the pharmacy, but they don't know why, but they pay the price, because that is just what it cost.<br />
The press is quick to cover the school shootings and people are outraged that a bunch of kids they don't know were killed. But these same people are just as outraged when an official at the stadium makes a bad call and it their team looses. The sad part about this is, they will stay more pissed off at the ref, than the fact the same government that promises to do something about the school shooting is the same government that failed to protect it's own people at the embassy in Benghazi. They don't see the same outrage when, our dollar gets weaker and weaker around the world and that China and Russia arn't scared to stand up to our president, just like Baltimore wasn't scared to stand up to Peyton Manning. We keep playing this way and it will probably come down to overtime and sudden death takes on an entire new meaning.<br />
So here we are, Football playoff season, the tax season is coming and the the people will want their refunds. Fans of the ball games of the ones that lost, walk around depressed saying maybe next year, in the mean time we all loose at the tax office and never look for a better season next year.<br />
Think things will ever change? Not unless we fire the head coach (Obama) his assistants (Biden, Reid and Pelosi) and get rid of the entire staff (senate and congress) and go for better picks in the upcoming draft.<br />
Good luck to us all on a better season next year. <br />

</script> This is about right on track for the Republican party, lets blow the presidential race in a big way, not just give it away. The Paul Ryan pick will be the death nail for any chance to get Obama out of the white house.<br />
The Democrats are licking their lips and the ad's are already in the works. They will be on the Florida televisions within just a few days. The first ad will be; <strong><em>Romney and Ryan plan to cut and gut your Medicare and Medicaid benefits, get ready to pay more so rich people like Romney and Ryan don't have tell their friends they are going to raise their taxes. If you don't want to be kicked out of the hospital and put on the streets, VOTE NO to the Romney Ryan cut and gut plan.</em></strong><br />
<br />
Does it matter that it is truthful? Did it matter that when they run the ad that claimed a man's wife died of cancer after Romney sold the company, seven years later? Since when did the truth matter to a politician trying to keep power?<br />
<br />
You would think with unemployment at over 8% and gas at almost $4.00 a gallon, he wouldn't have a chance. But Obama will win in November 57 to 42 and 1 going to none of the above, mark it, count on it, place your bets.<br />

Romney has decided to fight Obama the way the democrats fight the republicans. This was evident at the David Axelrod public disruption by Romeny plants. <br />
Romney admitted to having the plants show up at the Axelrod event stating, "Obama sends his agents to our events, we will do the same." That isn't the exact quote, but you get the point, what's fair is fair, if you do unto me, I will do unto you.<br />
<br />
The Democrats tried to cry foul, but it's only because they are not used to anyone fighting back or questioning their methods. When they fought against McCain they didn't have anything to worry about, McCain was always about wanting people to like him and not make waves, even if it meant not defending himself or his staff. McCain would even go after Obama past affiliations, Reverend Wright, Bill Aires or even Obama himself from his own book.<br />
<br />
The fight should be a good one. If it becomes "tit for tat" it will be really interesting to see who gets the best punches in. The one thing that we know for sure, is that it is going to get ugly. Obama will not run on his record, he is even talking about fixing his own health care bill, unemployment is inching up again, the economy is shrinking and a dismal growth rate of less than two percent, this can't be good.<br />
<br />
Keep watching and pay attention to the press trying to spin everything in Obama favor. Will it work? I don't think it will or will Romney let it.</div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><script src="http://widget.associatedcontent.com/NGBuzz/Buzz.ashx?buzzId=150024&apiToken=FCF7935C3C824920B976FF44EC4E9657&xmlurl=http://www.associatedcontent.com/rss/search_article_profit+online_______,,.xml&CustomTitle=PROFIT+ONLINE" type="text/javascript" language="javascript"></script></div>RE Cochranhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12385439696442103662noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4452153402726010011.post-38633819222817839522012-05-30T20:48:00.001-04:002012-05-30T20:55:10.405-04:00Romney Vs Obama - it's ON NOW!!<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">

Romney clinched the nomination by winning Texas the other night. Obama called to congratulate him on his win.<br />
<br />
So, now it's officially on, the fight is going start in earnest over the next few weeks. The fund raising dollars will start pouring in and the pundits will start their same ole dribble.<br />
<br />
Things to consider. Don't pay attention to what Limbaugh, Boortz, Hannity or any other talk radio person has to say. Remember, if they had all the answers and could choose leaders, we wouldn't have had Bill Clinton or Obama. <br />
Don't pay attention to the broadcast news, they have their own agenda just like the talk radio people do. Remember the Dan Rather incident? For all the people who say the main stream media isn't bias, just watch the the George Stephannouplousous interview with Mitt Romney. Would he really ask them kind of questions of Obama? Or just go back to the last election and look at the questions that they did ask Obama, really? Nothing about college transcripts, nothing about Rev. Wright or Nothing about drug use he talked about in his book? <br />
<br />
It' fixing to get really nasty. The Democrats are going to accuse Romney of being everything except the son of the Devil. It might even come down to that if Obama get desperate enough.<br />
<br />
This should shape up to be one of the most personal attack elections in years. Steve Hayes, Charles Krauthammer and Chris Matthews will all have a good time with this one. I will have a good time watching them and the expressions on their face every time the polls change. <br />
<br />

</script> <script src="http://kona.kontera.com/javascript/lib/KonaLibInline.js" type="text/javascript">
</script> Where do I start? I guess a little history about me would be a good place. I listened to talk radio starting back in the early days, Neal Boortz in the mornings on WSB AM 750, Rush Limbaugh on WGST AM 640 in the afternoon and in the late afternoon back to WSB and a group of people that really made me laugh, Gary Mckee, Trevor and the great Larry Munson. Those were roots of what talk radio grew into, a young squeaky voice was against Neal Boortz in the morning, a kid from Alabama named Sean Hannity who I would listen to when Neal was out or would go on one of his rants against smokers or fat people, (I am not either one) just got tired of hearing it.<br />
Back then, I didn't know that much about politics, I guess I learnt alot and Rush Limbaugh was educational at the time. I even tried to watch his TV show when I could, it was hard to find on in the Atlanta TV market at the time. Neal Boortz had just went on the air full time and had quit the lawyering business, he had taken the place of another icon, Ludlow Porch, and learning to listen to him was quite an adjustment.<br />
That was then, this is now. Now days its all the same ole stuff day after day. Obama is the worst president ever, the US is on a down hill slide to hell and Obama greased the sled. Sean Hannity has become a moralist, I am better than you because I super religious. His conversation with Penn from Penn and Teller, had him so buffaloed that he could find a good argument against drugs, or anything else for that matter. Neal Boortz has become what he claims his listeners are, unable to hear the truth without fear that he maybe wrong. I heard a guy call and was making some good points until Boortz got agravated that he seemed to be loosing the battle, hung up and starting making his points with having to answer questions on his reasoning.<br />
I don't know if it's because I am older now, because I fought Cancer all last year or something from a combination of both, but I am tired of it. I know I can't be the only one. I am tired of blaming the government for everything, but Rush, Neal and Sean will tell you that you can't be successful with Obama in office and the democrats running things. I tell you it doesn't matter who is running things, it matters what you do in your own life that counts. If you sit and worry about what the government is doing, then you are worring about the wrong thing, unless you are in talk radio.<br />
I guess I figure it like this, Bill Clinton got elected, they were against that one too, Obama will probably be re elected, so it's up to you to make your own way.<br />
Talk radio is just filler now days when I get bored with music, but I can only handle a little at a time, where I couldn't wait to see what they would talk about, now I already know before I even turn the dial. <br />
Is Talk Radio on the way out? I don't know, but I know I am tired of the same ole thing. Maybe its time for something new, maybe a revival of comedy, where is Trevor, McKee and that Munson guy?</div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><script src="http://widget.associatedcontent.com/NGBuzz/Buzz.ashx?buzzId=150024&apiToken=FCF7935C3C824920B976FF44EC4E9657&xmlurl=http://www.associatedcontent.com/rss/search_article_profit+online_______,,.xml&CustomTitle=PROFIT+ONLINE" type="text/javascript" language="javascript"></script></div>RE Cochranhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12385439696442103662noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4452153402726010011.post-63297113893636485712012-02-06T09:59:00.000-05:002012-02-06T09:59:10.786-05:00Obama will Win White House in 2012<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><script type="text/javascript">

</script> The Republican establishment is making sure that Obama stays in office for another four years. With the promotion of Mitt Romney and the denigration of any of the contenders, especially Newt Gingrich, they have all but guaranteed Obama a victory. The Democrat machine is already planning the new inauguration party and laughing at Mitt Romney out loud.<br />
The general public has no say in the process anymore, as soon as their voices are heard, they are squashed by million of dollars of negative advertising against their choice. Almost in unison, the press chimes in with the party leaders to increase the attacks on the candidate, which in turn, the candidate would have to spend money, time and effort to defend themselves. This has been evident through out this campaign season; when Herman Cain made it to the top of the polls, accusations of infidelity surfaced that was never substantiated and seem to disappear when he dropped out of the race, then when Newt Gingrich started making headlines the same thing, even though he won South Carolina the negative ads ran in Florida elimanated any chance of a repeat. Newt was out spent nearly 16 to 1 or more, and even with the fact that Newt actually won more counties, that was never highlited, Mitt won the more populated counties where the money for negative ads were spent.<br />
Now, fast forward to this summer and fall, Romney gets nomination and has to debate Obama for White House. The democrats will ads running constantly about Romney not paying his fair share of Taxes, Mitt only paid 15% tax while he hid millions in Swiss and Camen bank accounts. They will have ads using his own words, "I'm not worried about the poor", or "I like firing people" even if it taken out of context, it won't matter. The democrats will have nearly a billion dollars to spend and when the advertising barage starts it will be relentless and ruthless.<br />
The republican establishment looks to have thrown in the towel against Obama by selecting Mitt to be their man. They seem to be looking past this election and they think that there is no one that can beat Obama, any negative ads will be called racist and with Mitt as a sacrifical lamb this year, they will be able to look for another canidate for 2016, if the United States can last that long under the rule of the democrats and Leader of the Czars, Obama the Great.<br />
The conservatives and general republican public need stand up to the machine if they expect to have any chance of beating Obama in the upcoming election. There may be hope, but unless people with like minds stand together, you get what they want you to have.<br />

I'll try to keep it simple enough so that democrats can even comprehend this. If I'm wrong no big deal, but if I'm right, God help us all because the housing bust won't be anything compared to this.<br />
First, he has declined to approve the Keystone Pipeline due to his slavery to the environmentalist and his desire to keep them happy, and their money. This decision, is going to have a two fold impact. One, it will allow the job creation associated with it's construction to go by the wayside for at least another year. Two, the lack of new energy production will allow oil prices to continue to rise.<br />
The next decision he has made that will contribute to our demise is the refusal to confront Iran and the trouble stirring in the middle east. The unstable atmosphere in the region has caused a direct effect of oil price increases and in turn, a hike in gas prices in the past month. This is just the start of things to come.<br />
The future for oil prices is looking bleak for the United States and the American public. The economy will start to slow again when Gas prices start to inch up toward $4.00 dollars a gallon again. People that live in rural areas and do not have alternate transportation means will simply sit home and save money to put into the gas tank. We have already seen this once before, right before the housing bust, gas hit $4.00 dollars a gallon and the economic push we needed stopped. People seem to think that the housing bubble started this crises, they have blinder on, the increase of gas prices started it all. When people couldn't meet their budgeted obligations due to the increase of transportation cost, it became a domino effect. They needed money for fuel, stopped any extra spending on unneeded consumer goods, this in turn slowed down the manufacturing sector, which started laying off people, then they couldn't pay their house note and it got worse from there.<br />
Obama seems to be hoping for the same thing to happen all over again. With his refusal to do anything to make us energy independent from OPEC and middle east interest, it will only be a matter of time before gas prices will slow the economic engine of the US once again.<br />
If the predictions of the experts are right, gas will hit nearly $5.00dollars a gallon by mid summer, just in time for the presidential political game to heat up. Gas prices when Obama took office was just below $2.00dollars a gallon and continued to rise since he has been in. The economic recovery started slowly when prices got lower, and we are just now seeing the result. We will see the economic slow down start again by summer, it will be directly related to gas prices and commercial property my see the next bust. When people have to stay home and quit shopping because they need the money for gas, business's will close and inflation will hit all sectors due to transportation cost.<br />
We have to seek energy independence in order to save our economy. Obama will never let it happen, so vote for change you can live on, believe it.</div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><script src="http://widget.associatedcontent.com/NGBuzz/Buzz.ashx?buzzId=150024&apiToken=FCF7935C3C824920B976FF44EC4E9657&xmlurl=http://www.associatedcontent.com/rss/search_article_profit+online_______,,.xml&CustomTitle=PROFIT+ONLINE" type="text/javascript" language="javascript"></script></div>RE Cochranhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12385439696442103662noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4452153402726010011.post-47785679126944939032012-01-15T15:46:00.000-05:002012-01-15T15:46:42.051-05:00DIY Green Energy<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><script type="text/javascript">

</script> Cancer cures are different on every level. There are certian types of cancers that are more treatable than others but no matter what type you have there is fear of the unknown.<br />
I know, I talk from experience. I was diagnosed with cancer about year ago next month and you know what, I wasn't concern to much about it. I kept a good attitude on the Cancer care I would recieve and I knew I was going to be ok. Even though I had a type of tonsil and lymph node cancer that would require an agressive treatment plan and I knew I was going to be really sick for awhile, I never got down about it.<br />
I was given a clean bill of health this past September from my Oncologist, that the treatments had been successful but we would have to keep an eye on things for the next couple of years. I felt thankful that I had the good news. I had lost a lot of weight during the Chemo and radiation and I am still currently trying to put weight back on, I need about 10 more pound to get back to where I was and I need to get my energy levels up.<br />
But, now I just went and had another test, this time for some reason, I am not so confident as I was in the past. I think now it is just fear that cancer will raise it's ugly head again to stop my healing process.<br />
I think I got thru the treatments a lot better than the not knowing. So to me the cure was easier than the not knowing.<br />

</script> Romney may be the pick of the republican establishment but I think it's becoming more and more evident to most everyone that the public isn't in lockstep with them. With a win in Iowa and New Hampshire, you would think that no matter what, he would have a big advantage going into the South Carolina primary. But, according to latest polls, Romney and Newt are in a virtual tie for the lead, even though both are only polling in the mid to upper 20's.<br />
Newt has always thought he would do better in the south, but his attacks on Romney seem to be working better than the talk show pundits thought it would. The talking heads, like Boortz, Hannity, Limbaugh and others said that Newt was going against capitalism, I think Newt was just showing what would happen to Romney if he got the nomination, and this is mild as to what the Obama democrat team will do to him.<br />
If Romney can't stand up to the heat in South Carolina, how will he hold up to the heat nationwide? He has tried to explain what Bain Capitol did and try to say they created jobs, but when the democrats start rolling out the victims, explanations won't heal the heartbroken and disgruntled.<br />
Charles krauthammer may have said it best on the show on Fox Special Report with Bret Baier when he said, "this is warning." Romeny will have to figure out some kind of defense, I don't think it's possible, but the fact that it is coming out so early may be the only thing that saves Romney. <br />
If he does become the nominee and this comes out again in the summer or fall he can push it aside by just saying, "I've answered all these questions and you need to refer back to my answers," then brush it aside and go on.<br />
But, South Carolina could be a spring board for stiffer competition in the south and Newt may be able to at least make some head way and show Romeny is not as invincible as the establishment thinks. He will have a hard time with the southern states for one more reason that the talking head refuse to admit. That the south just doesn't trust north eastern politicians. </div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><script src="http://widget.associatedcontent.com/NGBuzz/Buzz.ashx?buzzId=150024&apiToken=FCF7935C3C824920B976FF44EC4E9657&xmlurl=http://www.associatedcontent.com/rss/search_article_profit+online_______,,.xml&CustomTitle=PROFIT+ONLINE" type="text/javascript" language="javascript"></script></div>RE Cochranhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12385439696442103662noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4452153402726010011.post-51252089201086303612011-12-22T09:22:00.000-05:002011-12-22T09:22:28.449-05:00Is Iowa a worthless Primary?<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><script type="text/javascript">

</script> This question is being asked more and more the closer we come to the January 3rd, caucus date. It seems the polls change every day and if they are a true indicator of whats going on, Ron Paul just may win in Iowa. Then that begs to ask, again, is Iowa a worthless primary?<br />
In most reasonable minds, if Ron Paul wins, the answer must be yes. There is absolutely no way that Ron Paul will be Obama. With the statements attributed to Ron Paul from his news letters from the past, he would have a hard time beating anyone. Talk show host Erick Erickson on WSB radio, covered a lot of what was written on his show on Wednesday, December 21st. Some of the things that he talked about was down right scary if you heard it. According to Erick, in Paul's news letter, there was such things as, "gay were intentionally infecting the blood banks with AIDS, that there was going to be a race war and referred to blacks as animals." Also, according to Mr. Erickson, Ron Paul's editor was quoted making such comments as "there is nothing more lovin, than a Jew in the oven," it this is true and Paul refused to dis-own these comments, how could he possibly be a candidate.<br />
If a talk show host can find this stuff, what do you think the democrats will do with all this information? Hitler himself, would stand a better chance of beating Obama if they have access to the same information that Erick spoke of. <br />
Are the people of Iowa so ill informed that they would actually vote for someone like this? If Ron Paul wins in Iowa there is no way this can reflect the rest of America. This will make Iowa look like a laughing stock and may remove any candidates from ever participating in that state again.<br />
Also, Newt and Romney are in a virtual tie according to the latest polls, the closer we get to January 3rd, the more volatile the polls will become.<br />
I am looking forward to the caucus, but only as it will show the insignificance of the whole damn thing anyway.<br />

All the political news people will be watching and I'm sure that millions of other will be watching as well. Then there will be a lot people in Atlanta that will want to watch, but the Falcons will be on Thursday night football, and they may flip back and forth, depending on the status of the game.<br />
This is building to be one of the best of the debates so far. Mitt Romney and Ron Paul have started on a concerted smear campaign against the current front polls leader, Newt Gingrich. The ad's have been relentless and full of have truths and comments on what Newt did in the past. They tend to have one thing in common, Newt has worked with democrats in the past or has changed his position on things over the years. I have a feeling that Newt will be well prepared for the attack tonight and will smile the whole time.<br />
Ron Paul will probably do well in Iowa, his ground game is in tack and his followers are true devotes and will do more with less if need be. The problem will be if he starts to get attacked during the debate to keep smiling and not become a grumpy old man.<br />
Mitt Romney has to keep his cool as well, no more betting on the truth. Don't let the lies and attacks get to him, don't touch your opponents, don't Rick Perry get to him like he's done in the past. I don't know what it is, but something just comes off that Rick Perry and Mitt Romney just don't like each other.<br />
Will the fireworks fly tonight? A lot of political junkies can't wait to see what happens. All day long the talk show will do their predictions of who will win, who will gaff and who has the most to loose. So far all the pundits have been wrong about who would be leading the polls at this point, the establishment in the republican party has been fighting tooth and nail for Romney and it hasn't worked, so what's next.<br />
Dick Morris will be tweeting, Neil Boortz national talk radio host will be like Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, talking about it all day today and all day tomorrow as well. Pay attention to see if any of them call it like it is, so far most have missed the mark. Some will say they will pull for who ever is against President Obama, except I think if Ron Paul somehow get's out front, they might even try to get Donald Trump to run. Most have already declared Ron Paul, to far out there for the Republican party when it comes to foreign affairs. There may be one problem with that sentiment, if they disrespect him, he might just run as an independent and pull a Ross on them, which will pretty much assure that Obama wins.<br />
<br />
Ok, the way I see it, is that most middle class working Americans want someone who will just tell them the truth and stand up for what they believe in. That's why Herman Cain took off so quick, that's why Newt Gingrich has been doing so well since Cain dropped out. I think most people are a little wary of the Northeast politician, Mitt Romney has never been able to get out of the 20's in the polls. I don't think we really know who will be ahead by April, all I know is who ever it is, be prepared for the most brutal attacks by Democrats that you have ever seen, with nearly a billion dollars to spend, it will be something to see. Nancy Pelosi started a little early when she threatened Newt, but that was just a taste of what's yet to come.<br />
Tonight's debate on Fox News from Iowa will be followed by endless commentary, but the ultimately it will come down to the people, not the pundits and talk show host. <br />
<br />
I can't wait.<br />

</script>Herman Cain announced yesterday that he was suspending his campaign for president. Though he did not come right and say it's over, read between the lines and you can pretty much say he's done.<br />
With the allegations of sexual improprieties, his support has been slipping since the first accusations were made. It is alleged that the latest report of the 13 year, on again, off again affair was the straw that finally broke the back of the campaign. <br />
He came home to Atlanta to supposedly talk to his family, more than likely to try to save what was left of his marriage. He admitted that he had helped the woman in question financially, but never told his wife about the arrangement. He has continued to say that there was never any sexual part to the relationship, however the woman insist that there was. <br />
Most all the accusations about Mr. Cain seems to stem from his time with the National Restaurant Association, a three year period out of a career that spanned over 40 years. The one thing that never made much sense about this whole situation was that fact. But, with this latest accusation, the affair went on over much of the time he was living here in Atlanta and communication was right up till just recently. This time would also include his battle with cancer, where as a survivor myself, you need all the support you can get, plus his time as a WSB radio talk host and during his time as a fill in host for Neil Boortz. From all accounts, this seemed so much out of character for Mr. Cain, that a lot personal friends seemed to have a hard time accepting that he could have done what he had been accused of.<br />
The announcement made on Saturday, pretty much seals the deal for Herman. Though he said he is just suspending his effort, he can pack it in for good. Once you have started on a downhill slide and it's this close to New Hampshire and Iowa, your done. The support he had from the Tea party has been taken by Newt Gingrich and it looks like the battle will come down between Newt and Romney.<br />
Good luck to Herman Cain, I think his family will need a lot of healing after all this, I wish him the best in the future. </div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><script src="http://widget.associatedcontent.com/NGBuzz/Buzz.ashx?buzzId=150024&apiToken=FCF7935C3C824920B976FF44EC4E9657&xmlurl=http://www.associatedcontent.com/rss/search_article_profit+online_______,,.xml&CustomTitle=PROFIT+ONLINE" type="text/javascript" language="javascript"></script></div>RE Cochranhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12385439696442103662noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4452153402726010011.post-52033165803359893592011-12-02T13:10:00.000-05:002011-12-02T13:10:16.370-05:00Will Herman Cain Quit Now?<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><script type="text/javascript">

</script> It's all over the news, Herman Cain on his way home to Georgia to face his family. His wife has been interviewed and claims that she is not "one of those women who will stand on the stage with her husband and support him," that is, if he is guilty of the charges made against him.<br />
Most of you know that the allegation is that Herman Cain had an on again, off again thirteen year affair with a woman in the metro Atlanta area. I won't mention her name, I refuse to give her any more press that she has already received. This is just the latest report of some type of infidelity related to the presidential hopeful and this may just be the one that finally kills the campaign. <br />
He has issued an email asking supporter to tell him why he should stay in the race. He has stated that he would talk to his family, then make a decision on weather or not to go forward. This almost seems contradictory, either let your supports decide or your family, what happens if one or the other says's No?<br />
Either way, I think that it is given, that he's done. His poll numbers has steadily dropped since the first affair was reported. Polls that had him in double digits just five weeks ago, now have him in single digits and there seems no way he will recover from this in time for the votes Iowa or New Hampshire.<br />
Where he had a lot of support from independents, that has continued to drop and they shifted their support to Newt Gingrich.<br />
Will Herman Cain quit? From all indications that he is all but done, probably so, but the announcement will come Monday, stay tuned.<br />

</script> Here I sit on Thanksgiving morning and counting my thanks for a lot of things, most of all, for another day with my family and friends. Latter today, I will go to my parents house, I am thankful that they are both still alive and doing well in their 70's. Once there, we will have a houseful of family and friends to surround us and socialize with, we don't get together nearly often enough. We have a blessing of thousand of calories of food, we all bring a little, that turns into a whole lot. We will have the traditional turkey, ham and everyones favorite sweet potato pie.<br />
After the struggles of this past year, I thank God everyday for another day, for helping me to beat cancer this year and the strides I have made in recovery. I truely am blessed to have another day of feeling good and getting better. Throat cancer treatment is very tough, 8hrs of surgery this past April, to remove my tonsils and lymph nodes, 30 radiation treatments and a port installation for 48 hours of chemotherapy 6 hours at a time. I am blessed to have made it thru and come out on the other side feeling better everyday, happy Thanksgiving.<br />
To everyone out there facing their own struggles, remember the blessings that you have. We are blessed to have this Thanksgiving day to spend time with our family and friends. To see the beauty of the world around us. Happy Thanksgiving.<br />
From me and my family to you and yours, Happy Thanksgiving to all.<br />

</script> <script src="http://kona.kontera.com/javascript/lib/KonaLibInline.js" type="text/javascript">
</script> <br />
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">The super committee has now given up on it's assignment to cut the budget and figure out a way to balance the budget. Instead what we get is a microcosm view of what the true problem of our government really is, broken. </div><br />
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">There is no more compromise in our government. The sides are so far apart ideally, there is virtually no way they will ever agree to do anything. The democrats in the senate and congress have drifted so far to the socialist liberal left that they will never agree to anything that reduces the size of government. The true colors of the democrats are being exposed more and more with everyday that passes and with the President leading the agenda they have no reason to change.</div><br />
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">The republicans are defined by the press as obstructionist, while the democrats and Obama are said to be trying to accomplish the work of the people. But, looking back at the one major bill that they did pass, the Health care reform bill, it was so unpopular that most of the members that voted for it were voted out of office in the 2010 mid-term elections.</div><br />
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">Now with the failure of the so called, Super Committee, tax increases and military spending cuts will take place in January 2013. The president has already stated that he would veto any bill that would counter act this automatic adjustment. In other words, he will get what he wanted last year in the budget bill that was defeated. The 600billion dollar military cut will be largest cut in our military budget in the history of our country and could under mind the effectiveness peace thru strength. </div><br />
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">The other part of the bill, the tax increases, were fought over last year, know as the Bush tax cuts, the democrats wanted these tax cuts expires last year, but lost the fight. Now, the President will get what he wanted thru the back door efforts of the failure of the Super Committee. I don't know if just me, but it seems like the democrats on the committee knew all along what they were doing and never had any intentions of working with the republicans. If they had been able to accomplish anything, that could be detrimental to Obama's agenda of raising taxes and cutting the defense budget.</div><br />
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">If you doubt what I'm saying maybe you should do so investigating on your own. Maybe you should go back and see that the republicans made several attempts to negotiate, but the because they would allow any new taxes the democrats would just walk away. The one thing that was the sticking point, tax increases, more money for the government to spend when they are wasting more and more money every day. </div><br />
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">So the Super Committee turned into a Super Failure, at least for the American public and looks like a Super Win for the Democrats. Able to get another bill passed thru the back door, another reminder of the famous words of Nancy Pelosi, “You have to Pass the bill to find out what in it.” The failure of the Super Committee it just another way of hiding from the public the stakes of the game until the game was over. How many people can remember hearing all these things, tax increases, military budget cuts and the other parts of the automatic things to happen before it shut down?</div><br />
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">Thank you democrats.</div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><script src="http://widget.associatedcontent.com/NGBuzz/Buzz.ashx?buzzId=150024&apiToken=FCF7935C3C824920B976FF44EC4E9657&xmlurl=http://www.associatedcontent.com/rss/search_article_profit+online_______,,.xml&CustomTitle=PROFIT+ONLINE" type="text/javascript" language="javascript"></script></div>RE Cochranhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12385439696442103662noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4452153402726010011.post-48066381155628533802011-11-03T19:24:00.001-04:002011-11-03T19:35:24.923-04:00Protesters Protest Prostesters Protesting in Oakland<script type="text/javascript">

</script> The Occupy Wall Street protesters in Oakland California are upset with the anarchist protesters giving them a bad name. It seems that things got out of hand the other night when the two groups encountered each other and violence broke out. The police were called in to dispurse the crowds, they used non lethal force, they used tear gas and other mean to dispurse the crowd away from the area.<br />
The Oakland interim police chief, Howard Jordan vowed to protect the protesters from the protesters in the anarchist movement. The anarchasit spray painted graffati on buildings and store fronts of business owners. Most of the business owners actually support the occupy Wall Street protest, but the vandals who attacked these business, broke windows and left a lot of hard feeling along the way about all the protesters.<br />
The word on the street is that the leaders of the Occupy Wall Street group is seeking to have all the other protesters removed from the area where they are staying so they can continue to peacefully protest. In other words, as the title says, the protesters are protesting the protesters protesting.<br />
Stay tuned this only can get more stupid than it already is. When one group doesn't have a clue about what they are protesting and the other wants to protest everything, it can only get more stupid. The only thing that make the whole thing worth watching is to see if Nancy Pelosi or President Obama will continue to support the efforts of this .protesters along with other members of the democrat party. <br />
We will wait and see<div class="blogger-post-footer"><script src="http://widget.associatedcontent.com/NGBuzz/Buzz.ashx?buzzId=150024&apiToken=FCF7935C3C824920B976FF44EC4E9657&xmlurl=http://www.associatedcontent.com/rss/search_article_profit+online_______,,.xml&CustomTitle=PROFIT+ONLINE" type="text/javascript" language="javascript"></script></div>RE Cochranhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12385439696442103662noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4452153402726010011.post-357232407133622282011-09-02T18:09:00.000-04:002011-09-02T18:09:33.753-04:00President out of Ideas for jobs<script type="text/javascript">

</script> I guess you have seen all the reports now, the President is due to announce his lastest economic recovery plan next week. The majority of the reports I have seen today is more about the conflict with the NFL season start, than Obama's next anouncement. It's pretty sad really, when people have lost so much faith in the leadership of the President, that his adivisors have to even consider this. More so, that Obama himself, is saying that he will wrap it up before the game starts, sad, so sad. <br />
Could you image football pre empting Richard Nixon or Ronald Regan, how about Bill Clinton? People had respect for the office back then, now days it seems the president is treated more like a celeberty than the leader of the free world. A president that has lost touch with the working class and lost respect among the same folks, that makes for a sad situation.<br />
Is it really a policy that can change the current economic condition or is it something a lot deeper in the American philosophy. Maybe President Obama can't do anything and never could, the the fact is that people look to him for leadership, which is hard to find. He can't even members of his own party to go along with most of what he suggest.<br />
I think that what we will get next week will be more of the same that we have heard, only this time he promises it will work, if only the GOP will get out of the way.<br />
I think that he even has a hard time really believing that he really has an answer at this point. It's job protection time and he knows that he is running out of chances to make a difference.<br />
The best thing he could do is announce that the government is going to get out of the way in the eviromental and permits department and allow business to move forward and tax cuts for any new employee added. We will see?<div class="blogger-post-footer"><script src="http://widget.associatedcontent.com/NGBuzz/Buzz.ashx?buzzId=150024&apiToken=FCF7935C3C824920B976FF44EC4E9657&xmlurl=http://www.associatedcontent.com/rss/search_article_profit+online_______,,.xml&CustomTitle=PROFIT+ONLINE" type="text/javascript" language="javascript"></script></div>RE Cochranhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12385439696442103662noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4452153402726010011.post-80909828923311625372011-07-25T20:04:00.000-04:002011-07-25T20:04:21.658-04:00Debt limit Budget Deal or No Deal<script type="text/javascript">

</script> The president and the speaker continue to battle over the debt limit increase, time to work something out is now. The speaker is wanting any increase in spending tied to budget cuts and the president and the democrats are still pushing for tax increases. <br />
Funny, during the campaing seems that the candiate Obama wasn't quite as vocal about rasing taxes but the president can't seem to find a way to quit spending so now he needs more money. The democrats thirst for the American dollar seem to grow more daily. If the president was really more interested in the middle class and the poor he would realize that every time you tax the people that create jobs and wealth the less you help the job prospects.<br />
The speaker of the house, John (I'm not caving in) Boehner, seems to have the support of the majority of Americans right now, with the, don't spend what you don't have approach. It seems pretty simple, if you are going to spend money, don't borrow what you don't have, when the whole argument right now is that we have so much debt that we have to increase the limit just to allow for interest payments.<br />
Stay tuned, we need leadership and statemanship, not a spending junkie looking for his next fix.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><script src="http://widget.associatedcontent.com/NGBuzz/Buzz.ashx?buzzId=150024&apiToken=FCF7935C3C824920B976FF44EC4E9657&xmlurl=http://www.associatedcontent.com/rss/search_article_profit+online_______,,.xml&CustomTitle=PROFIT+ONLINE" type="text/javascript" language="javascript"></script></div>RE Cochranhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12385439696442103662noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4452153402726010011.post-13984216317140416782011-06-08T15:08:00.000-04:002011-06-08T15:08:04.281-04:00Weiner of the yearWhy won't politicians just tell the truth up front. It seems that it would be a lot easier to get past a lot of the scandals, if they would just say,"I did it, I don't care what you think, next question?" The part that seems to get them all in trouble is the lying about what they did, rather that the fact of what they did. <br />
Anthony Weiner is just one of a long list of politicians that have thought they were above telling what really what really happened. They start off with excuses, then flat out lies and finally when the heat gets really hot they tell the truth. Now there are calls for his resignation, I can't say that I blame the people doing it. If he would just have told the truth there would be no need to resign, after all he is a grown man and the woman invovled was a grown woman, not some teenage bimbo. <br />
The reason now for resignation is the fact that he lied, if he would lie about something this simple and stupid, how can you trust him with other thing that really matter? This is the crux of the problem, not what he did, but what he hid?<br />
This is just another example of elected officials thinking that they are better than the rest of us and shouldn't be held to the same standards that they set for the rest of us. I don't see things changing anytime soon!<br />
They lie to us about taxes, ablity to do anything about oil prices, or just about anything else. Social Security and Medicare will be bankrupt soon and they will lie about how to fix and just who messed it up to begin with. The Sexting scandal just takes away from the serious issues at hand, it almost like that they would rather us talk about Weiner than any of the real issues at hand.<br />
If the economy doesn't turn around pretty soon, consumer confidence in what the administration is doing will slip so deep that nothing will save Obama.<br />
We are grown ups here, just tell us the truth.<script type="text/javascript">

Also, the most vocal of the middle eastern countries to the killing of Bin Laden appears to be Pakistan. The Pakistan government is saying that they should have been involved in the process to to capture or kill Bin Laden. To the Pakistan government I say, "too fricken bad."<br />
From previous reports it appears that there are leaks from inside the Pakistan government to Bin Laden sympathisers. According to some sources that previous attempts to track Bin Laden have failed due to leaks from confidential sorces. There are several government officials in side the US that still have a hard time comprehending that the Pakistan government didn't know where Osama was; considering the fact that the compound was within 800 feet of a military installation.<br />
CIA and other intel agencies are watching for increased chatter on known terrorist networks for increased threats. As of now, or as what is being released, there are no known reliable source threats for retaliation.<script type="text/javascript">

Read this link <a href="http://hubpages.com/hub/CanObamaandtheGovernmentStopRisinggasPrices">click here</a> for facts that the press doesn't tell you.<br />
The state and federal government could reduce gas prices 30 to 70 cents a gallon depending on the state tax, by suspending the gas tax while we open oil leases.<strike> </strike><br />
There is oil across the Dakota's and Canada that could supply the US with billions of gallons of oil, that could send the oil speculators in the other direction. <br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-indent: 0.5in;"><span style="color: #2d2d2d; font-family: "Cambria", "serif"; mso-ascii-theme-font: major-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: major-latin;">A step to reduce gas prices would be open exploration to all oil companies in the American mid west and Alaska. <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The Bakken Oil shale that extend from Canada to North Dakota and Montana this find alone could yield close to 4 billion barrels of oil. This is find to second to the over 10 billion gallons of oil that could be in ANWAR Alaska. The deepwater gulf and coastal exploration should be opened to tap into the billions of gallons of oil off each cost. Off the Atlantic cost alone there is over 7 billions of conventionally recoverable oil.</span></div><span style="color: #2d2d2d; font-family: "Cambria", "serif"; mso-ascii-theme-font: major-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: major-latin;"><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-indent: 0.5in;"><span lang="EN" style="color: #333333; font-family: "Cambria", "serif"; mso-ansi-language: EN; mso-ascii-theme-font: major-latin; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial; mso-hansi-theme-font: major-latin;">If we were to start building refineries within ten miles of both coast of the United States and we were to start opening up all drilling areas, the speculators would drive the cost down. We could actually gas prices below $1.25 by fall and OPEC would be forced to lower prices to compete. Production levels would increase automatically in the mid east, just to keep up with production from the well the US has that are uncapped and put into service within 60 days. In 24 months we could have oil flowing that make up 90 percent of the needs of oil in the US. This would also create high paying jobs in the construction industry while waiting to reduce our energy need from over seas.</span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-indent: 0.5in;"><span lang="EN" style="color: #333333; font-family: "Cambria", "serif"; mso-ansi-language: EN; mso-ascii-theme-font: major-latin; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial; mso-hansi-theme-font: major-latin;">With cars getting better and better fuel milage every year the billions of barrels of oil here in the US will stretch even more in the future.</span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-indent: 0.5in;"><span lang="EN" style="color: #333333; font-family: "Cambria", "serif"; mso-ansi-language: EN; mso-ascii-theme-font: major-latin; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial; mso-hansi-theme-font: major-latin;">Please read the link above to find out more on this subject and see the other articles on this blog to find out how much oil we could find in the mid west.</span></div></span><script type="text/javascript">
